Terms of Service

Garment Claims - An Overview
GreenStreets Cleaners does its utmost to care for your garment. Though we have an extremely low rate of garment issues, they will arise from time to time. In the dry cleaning business garment damage and claims can be very tricky due to the wide number of reasons garment damage can arise. An example might be a care label may be improperly labeled or a garment may be torn on our watch due to a wear and tear issue. Though no one is ever perfect we try our best to limit any and all damage and deal with claims fairly. We encourage you to read this printable brochure about dealing with garment damage.

Return Policy
GreenStreets encourages our customers to inspect your articles upon receipt. We will accept items for reprocessing that we have processed within 15 days of the order pick up date or delivery. Item must be returned to us not worn and in its original packaging. All claims and disputes must be reported within fifteen (15) days and settled through our Customer Service Department.

Garment Damages

We are members of and follow the standards and policies set forth by the Dry Cleaning and Fabricare Institute. We exercise utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our opinion, are best suited to the nature and conditions of each individual garment. Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials which may result in tears or development of small holes in fabric that are not readily apparent prior to processing. We cannot guarantee against color loss, color bleeding, shrinkage, or against damage to weak and tender fabrics. No claim can be made against GreenStreets for any garment that cannot withstand the normal cleaning process. It is assumed that any item sent in for cleaning is meant to be cleaned with one of our cleaning processes. We cannot accept responsibility for any item that is not meant to be washed, dry cleaned, or wet cleaned unless noted in writing prior by the customer.

GreenStreets Cleaners' liability with respect to any damaged items shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment regardless of brand or condition. GreenStreets uses the ‘fair claims guide’ by the Dry Cleaning and Fabricare Institute to determine the value of an item.

Once a claim for garment damage is submitted we analyze the cause of the damage. We will report our findings to you. If you do not agree with our assessment we offer the opportunity for you to send in your garment to the International Fabricare Institute (IFI). The cost for analysis is $40. GreenStreets will facilitate the shipping of the garment to the IFI. If the IFI finds that GreenStreets was cause for the damage we will reimburse the $40 and start a claim for the damage

GreenStreets is covered by baliee’s insurance for garment damage caused by GreenStreets Cleaners. We are liable for up to 10 times the cleaning cost of the garment, regardless of the value of the garment. Please view the IFI Fair Claims Guide here.

Loose Items
We do our best to track loose items but we are not responsible for items left in or on your garments. This includes but is not limited to belts, jewelry, beads, cash, detachable buttons, cufflinks, etc. Please make sure to empty your pockets prior to leaving items with us. We cannot be held responsible for damage to your garments from items left in pockets.

Misplaced Items
Any missing items must be reported before leaving the store or at the time of delivery. GreenStreets Cleaners makes its best effort to track every item that we process and will review all lost items claims on a case by case basis. Any items determined to have been lost by GreenStreets Cleaners will be reimbursed in accordance with the Dry Cleaning and Fabricare Institute and shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment regardless of brand or condition.

Deliveries and Manifest
At every delivery a GreenStreets driver will present a manifest of all the items that are being delivered. The manifest has been checked for accuracy prior to delivery by GreenStreets at our cleaning facility. At the time of delivery it is requested that the receiving party verify the accuracy of the manifest by counting all the items and matching them to the total number of items on the manifest. We also request a signature at the time of delivery. Once the manifest has been received and signed for all items listed on the manifest will be considered delivered. GreenStreets assumes no liability for any garments once they have been received and signed for. We are not responsible for stolen orders delivered in halls, doorways, or unsecured areas, if the front desk at your building does not sign for orders etc.

Item Count/Order forms

GreenStreets requests that every bag of clothing be accompanied by an invoice or an order form with the number of items in the bag and any special cleaning instructions. If no order form is located in the bag then the item count be GreenStreets is go be considered final.
